What is a Fixed Gear Cog?

A track cog is a fixed rear sprocket used on track and fixed-gear bicycles. Unlike cassette systems, the cog threads directly onto a track hub and locks in place with a reverse-thread lockring to prevent loosening during braking or skid stops.
